Workshops

XAtelier | Advanced Design Workshop

National Technical University of Athens | 06.2012

Participation at the workshop with the team from NTUA, School of Architecture, under the supervision of Giorgos Parmenidis.

The Workshop run primarily using AutoDesk MAYA and other fundamental software digital design tools.
1.The main aspiration of this workshop was to precisely develop a critical argument based on an individual research, which would be translated into pure geometrical-formal exploration; the format would be an ongoing deskcrit symposium.
2. Rather than assignments, the research would be divided into stages, tactics and strategies.
3. The students would develop an expertise in a specific Topological territory; this territory will emerge for a hybrid between 4 main intellectual fields, from the following menu:

TOPOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF:

A. STRUCTURAL-RIGID-Efficiencies

B. SKIN-SURFACE-MASS Efficiencies

C. GROUNDSCAPE Efficiencies

D. MULTIPLICATION-REPETITION-ACCUMULATION

Mapping the Commons

National Museum of Contemporary Arts in Athens | 12.2010

Participation at the workshop with the team from NTUA, School of Architecture, under the supervision of Dimitris Papalexopoulos

Concept, workshop and project development: José Pérez de Lama & Pablo de Soto (Hackitectura) in collaboration with Jaime Díez and Carla Boserman | Curated by: Daphne Dragona

AA Athens Visiting School

National Technical University of Athens | 04.2012 Cipher City

Participation at the workshop with the team from NTUA, School of Architecture, under the supervision of Dimitris Papalexopoulos

The workshop aimed to bring out the dynamic qualities of the seemingly inanimate urban surroundings, such as urban paths, sense of orientation, topography, and bridge these with the animate qualities of the human body. During this process, participants had the opportunity to experience the historical, contemporary, and geographical diversity of Athens during studio trips, while challenging the conventional design approach in order to break the dichotomy between the building and the urban realm. Capable of responding to external stimuli, the proposed structures applied the concepts of motion and real-time reaction to various parameters

Open Platform | Smart Geometry

Technical University in Delft, Holland | 11.2009

The 5th annual SmartGeometry workshop and conference was held in November 2009 in TU Delft with Bentley Systems, (makers of MicroStation and new parametric software GenerativeComponents) as the principal sponsor. In this workshop, parametric systems and computational design tools through a variety of technologies were being explored.
